About Fresh
Who We Are:
Fresh Charity was set up in 2009 to help children and young people in vulnerable situations, and registered as a charity in 2012. We offer emotional support, skills and volunteering projects. We began because we recognised that it is not a level playing field and some young people have a rough start; a disrupted home life, bullying, abuse, poverty, disability of themselves or a family member. We support young people to change their trajectory and use recovery from adversity to spur them on to great things.
We believe that with the right support, challenges don’t have to hold you back.
What We Do:
Our main project here in the UK are providing training placements and a volunteering group for young people at Pause Cat Cafe in Bournemouth. Through these we have helped hundreds of young people, many of whom have physical, educational or mental health disabilities. We found that through engaging in learning new skills, they experience an increase in self esteem and find a sense of purpose that drives them forwards with enthusiasm.
Fresh Charity is led by our trustees with help from a small team of dedicated volunteers.
Why We Need You:
Our mission as a charity is to help improve the lives of young people who’ve had a difficult upbringing by getting them involved in a variety of volunteering opportunities, and helping them overcome their struggles. We aim to reach out and provide support to people that is ongoing. It makes us feel amazing to know that we’ve made a positive impact in people’s lives. We hope that by running events like this, people will find their passion and be super excited to try something exhilarating that they have never experience before.
